How Do I Unlock Viewers?

During a Meetup1 session, instructors have the ability to control various features for participants, such as enabling or disabling the option for students to share their webcams. If these features have been disabled and need to be re-enabled, the instructor can easily do so by accessing the Lock Viewers settings.

Steps to Re-Enable Features:

  1. Locate the Gear Icon: In the Meetup1 interface, find the gear icon located next to the USERS list.
  2. Select “Lock Viewers”: Click on the gear icon and choose the Lock Viewers option from the dropdown menu.
  3. Adjust Permissions: From the Lock Viewers menu, you can re-enable specific features, such as allowing students to share their webcams, microphones, or other interactive tools.

By following these steps, you can quickly restore functionality for students during a live session, ensuring they can fully participate in the Meetup1 activities.

However, Meetup1 also lets the instructor completely unlock a specific student by clicking on a student’s name in the USERs list and selecting Unlock Student  from the popup menu.

Unlocking a Student in Meetup1: What You Need to Know

When you unlock a student in a Meetup1 session, it will disable all lock settings for that student, including features like Private Chat. This means the student will regain full access to all previously restricted functionalities.

Important Recommendation

In most cases, if the instructor only wants to remove one specific lock setting (such as allowing the student to share their webcam), it is recommended to use the Lock Viewers dialog. This method allows you to selectively enable or disable individual features without unlocking all settings for the student.

By using the Lock Viewers dialog, you maintain control over which features are accessible to students, ensuring a more tailored and managed experience during your Meetup1 session.
